Joe Wicks 'made more than £9million in a week' as thousands signed up to new app
Joe Wicks has reportedly made more than £9 million in a week after his new app had tens of thousands of subscribers.
The Body Coach had more than 130,000 new subscribers to his app between Christmas and New Year, each shelling out £69.99 for an annual subscription.
This meant that the fitness champion, who became a household name during the first national lockdown with his daily PE lessons for children who were being educated at home, was left flexing his financial muscle as he welcomed the new year.
The 33-year-old was cashing in £31,000 every 39 minutes, which is the average UK salary, as people rushed to sign up with new year resolutions to be fulfilled.
An insider told The Sun : “Joe’s Body Coach programme has always been hugely popular but the app version is a runaway hit.
“The usual price is £89.99 but it was on a discount, meaning it was even more appealing, especially as Brits started looking to get into shape after Christmas.
“The app was taking around £46,000 an hour.”
It has been a remarkable year for Joe as he made sure he owned the coronavirus pandemic with some incredible entrepreneurial decisions which culminated with him being awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours.
The source added: “Joe knows his market incredibly well and, while he’s giving them a value for money product, he’s absolutely raking it in.”
Joe launched his Body Coach brand in 2015 but it has been since March last year that his profile has soared as millions flocked to do his free workouts during lockdown.
