Yesterday, they issued a picture of a smiling Oscar and said it was thought he had adenovirus, which is common in children, and can return home soon.

Olivia announced on Saturday evening and shared new photos showing Oscar looking in much better spirits compared to the previous day.

She wrote: ‘I am so sorry I haven’t updated or responded to any of you since our last post.

‘The truth is, we all feel like we’ve been hit by a bus! Trying to stay focused, on top of everything and positive is a real challenge at times! You guys know this well!

‘Ozzy turned a horrible corner on New Year’s Eve, and we’ve been trying to source the reason ever since!

‘We’ve started to put a few pieces together but boy, he’s one heck of a puzzle!

‘I’m trying to learn to take a step back (well to some extent) instead of trying to ‘fix’ everything because it helps me see more clearly, and others on that note too!

‘I’m always there with my excel sheets, pen and paper, questioning everything in front of us, questioning opinions, trying to get all the facts straight and it sends me on a whole new level of exhaustion!

‘They have located a possible cause for fevers being adenovirus. This could explain a lot of things, but it may not. We just have to watch and wait.

Posting to their Facebook page on New Year’s Eve Olivia wrote: ‘Unfortunately, this is the way we are entering 2021. We are absolutely devastated.

‘Wishing you all a very Happy New Year with a shed load of love and light always.

‘Let’s get you home baby! Come on 2021, please be kind xxxxx’
