Jeremy Clarkson says he feared death as he battled Covid-19 over Christmas

Jeremy Clarkson feared for his life while fighting Covid-19 over Christmas.

The presenter, 60, was struck with the sheer terror he would die alone in a plastic tent after contracting the killer virus.

In his column, Jeremy admitted it was a “quite scary” experience as he opened up about getting coronavirus four days before Christmas.

He said: “I’m not going to lie — it was quite scary!”

The Millionaire presenter said he woke up with a persistent dry cough and dripping with sweat.

Jeremy took action after feeling sick and Googled his symptoms online.

Then he later got tested for coronavirus which confirmed he had got the virus.

His doctor told him if he didn’t get better in a fortnight he would have to go to hospital.

He wrote in The Times column : “The doctor was very clear… I’d feel under the weather for between five and 14 days and then I’d either get better or I’d have to go to hospital.”

His main concerns stemmed from his age and his lifestyle choices such as smoking.

“Where, because I am 60 and fat, and because I’ve smoked half a million cigarettes and had double pneumonia, I’d probably die, on my own, in a lonely plastic tent.”

Jeremy was self-isolating at a cottage with his girlfriend Lisa Hogan and her children.
