Calculating how much money you will receive from the second stimulus check may seem complicated to some people. However, the CNet portal has a calculator with which, in a very simple way, you can make an estimate of the amount they will give you. Next, we tell you how to use it.
Before using the calculator, you will first need to know what your adjusted gross income (AGI) is. You can find this information on your 2019 tax return. Find this figure on line 8b of the 2019 federal tax form 1040.
Remember that your AGI is the sum of all the money you earn in a year.
You must also enter the number of children under 17 who depend on you on the computer.
How to use the calculator
First, go to the CNet website where the tool is. Go to the part that says “Calculate your second stimulus payment”. There you will see three boxes that you will have to fill.
In the box that says “Choose your filing status below”, select “Single” if you are single, “Married” if you are married, and “Head of Household” if you are the head of the family.
In the second box, where is the question “What was your adjusted gross income (AGI)?” (What was your adjusted gross income (AGI)?), You will put the amount of money that you declared in 2019.
In the third box, where they ask you “How many dependents under age 17 did you claim?” (How many dependents under the age of 17 did you claim?), You will enter the number of children who are 16 years old or younger, and that you have declared as dependents before the IRS.
Finally, click on the button that says “Calculate” and give you an estimate of the amount of money you will receive on your second stimulus check.
