Oscar winner Louis Gossett Jr. reportedly left a Georgia hospital on Tuesday ‘out of fear’ despite being so sick with COVID-19 he ‘couldn’t even stand.’

Hospital staff ‘begged’ the 84-year-old actor to remain there but after a couple of days he was ‘freaked out by the wave of deaths’ in his ward, according to TMZ.

‘Please wear masks, social distance, isolate, pray and listen within. We cannot survive without one another,’ Louis told the outlet.

Gossett Jr. is now recovering at home with his son, but family and friends are urging fans to send ‘personal messages of healing and love’ via the hashtag #LoveLettertToLou.

The Brooklyn-born star has two sons – Satie, 46; and Sharron, 43 – from his marriages to ex-wife #2 Christina Mangosing and ex-wife #3 Cyndi James Gossett.

Louis successfully battled prostate cancer in 2010 because he caught in its early stages.

The coronavirus pandemic is spiking nationwide, with a reported 633K confirmed cases in Georgia (19.9M in the USA) leading to 10,503 deaths as of Thursday.

Gossett Jr. famously won a best supporting actor Academy Award for his portrayal of tough-as-nails Sergeant Emil Foley in An Officer and a Gentleman opposite Richard Gere in 1982.

The Broadway thespian is also well known for his Emmy-winning performance as Fiddler in the ABC television miniseries Roots back in 1977.

Louis also won a supporting actor Golden Globe for his part as Army officer Sidney Williams in HBO biopic The Josephine Baker Story in 1991.

This year, Gossett Jr. scored another Emmy nod for his role as Will Reeves/Hooded Justice in HBO’s nine-episode limited series Watchmen opposite Regina King.
