TOWIE hit with 176 Ofcom complaints as fans accuse Olivia Attwood of ‘bullying’

Fans of TOWIE were left feeling ‘uncomfortable’ and ‘unsettled’ after a row broke out between the cast members on Sunday’s episode.

Feisty stars Olivia Attwood, 29, and Chloe Brockett found themselves embroiled in a rather heated debate over name-calling.

Following the explosive episode, unimpressed viewers flocked to Ofcom to complain about the ‘unacceptable situation’.

The ITVbe show has been hit with 176 complaints, according to The Sun.

Concerned viewers claimed that trio Olivia Attwood, Nicole Bass, 28, and Clelia Theodorou, all had a part to play in ‘bullying’ Chloe who is ten years younger.

The blazing row broke out in a socially distanced beer garden on Sunday night’s episode after Chloe and Ella-Rae’s bitter friendship split.

It all emerged after Chloe slept with her former BFF’s ex, Jack McDermott.

During the brawl, both Chloe and Olivia hurled insults at one another while the other girls kept quiet and watched the row unravel

Viewers began to feel ‘uncomfortable’ however, when Olivia called the 19-year-old a ‘poisonous little creature’ in front of the group.

The babe, who shot to fame on Love Island barked: “I thought you was vile and poisonous. You went at Clelia last year like a Jack Russell.

Viewers accused Olivia of bullying

Olivia continued by claiming that Chloe had no friends ‘her own age’, and added that she felt sorry for her.

“I do feel a bit sorry for you, you haven’t got any friends your own age, you’re hanging around girls a lot older than you and your angry. I don’t know why you’re so angry but you are.

“The thing is I thought the other day “maybe was what I said a little bit too harsh” but the way you’ve conducted yourself, I’m bang on.’

The heated row reached boiling point when Chloe called Olivia “lanky old troll” to which Olivia bit back with, “You come here with Victoria Beckham’s wig on.”

The girls were said to have all ‘ganged up on’ Chloe

“You’ll never get married because no-one likes you.”

As they watched the storm brew between the girls, spectators flocked to Twitter to accuse Olivia, Nicole and Clelia of ganging up on Chloe.

“I’ve been watching towie over the years now and to see let them stand by and let a 19 year old get bullied by grown ass women. Yes grown women is just disgusting. Call it what you want it’s bullying. #towie ” shared one viewer.

“Honestly, I cannot watch towie anymore, how are people getting away with bullying?” another questioned.

Chloe hurled insults back at Olivia

A third wrote: “It’s so uncomfortable to watch Towie nowadays. Grown women bullying a 19 year old.”

“Olivia, Clelia and Nicole are absolutely vile. This is definitely bullying. How can all three of them be shouting at Chloe over a situation that has nothing to do with them?! #towie” a fourth fan shared.

While a fifth penned: “Actually finding it so hard to watch TOWIE the now the way they are all actually bullying that Chloe girl. Proper nasty!”.

A spokesperson for Ofcom has since told MailOnline: “We are assessing these complaints against our broadcasting rules, but are yet to decide whether or not to investigate.”

The row got very heated

Meanwhile, a TOWIE spokesperson stated: “Only Way Is Essex follows the real lives of our cast and as such we see their celebrations, make ups, break ups and disagreements.

“What you see on screen is based on the thoughts and opinions they choose to raise as part of telling their story.

“We have a robust support system in place to ensure the cast are supported before, during and after filming.”
