U.S. Marshals Wanted Man for 1998 Murder of Latino

Federal Marshals in the Great Lakes area They ask the population for help to find the suspect in the murder of a Latino in Indiana in 1998.

According to the information, Javier Oropesa, also known as Guillermo Lanteros Serna, killed Alexander Martínez with a bullet in the face on January 11, 1998 in East Chicago. The fugitive was charged with the murder in February 2009 after an extensive investigation.

The Marshals shared with him Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Oropesa’s fingerprints, which were taken in Lake County, Indiana, in 1997. DHS said they matched those taken from Guillermo Lanteros Serna in 1990. The researchers concluded that it was the same individual.

Marshals said the fugitive measures 5 feet 6 fleas, weighs between 155 and 175 poundsHe has brown eyes and black hair, with some gray hair.
