Furious customers ‘insulted’ by Gordon Ramsay’s £20 ‘preselected’ cheese board

Gordon Ramsay has sparked outrage once again as a customer complained that a cheese board he received at one of the celebrity chef’s restaurants was “insulting” and “preselected”.

Previously, Gordon was slammed for the size of his steak and chips, was told to “get a grip” for the price of his fry-up and criticised for the roast which was compared to a ‘child’s portion’.

But the latest customer to be disappointed by the TV chef’s food was Simon, who visited the three Michelin star restaurant with friends, Daily Star reports.

Simon was ‘insulted’ after receiving a “preselected” cheese board, and took to TripAdvisor to leave a two-star review.

Their review said: “I visited GR hospital road on a Friday night with friends for a special treat.

Another customer shared this picture of the cheese board

“I have been lucky enough to have eaten here several times over the past few years and have, when asked the question where has been your best ever meal?

“Happily and confidently said GR hospital road by a country mile.

“After Fridays meal I feel I will no longer be able to recommend it as a venue.

“The taster menu is verging on boring compared to other places around town – there was no stand out dish – no memorable smell when you sniff your food to take it all in before tucking in and no stand out memorable food.

It’s unlikely he’ll return to the restaurant

“The canapés were, by today’s 3 star restaurants, verging on boring – something I could have made at home not the first thing to eat in a 3 star restaurant.

“I sadly feel this restaurant has lost its way – it needs a good look at what it’s rivals are doing and needs to refresh the menu – adding a sorrel sauce to the lobster ravioli instead of the perfect shellfish bisque is not exactly cutting-edge.

“I also feel. £20 a head for a preselected cheese board was insulting – If the best GR can come up with is a slice of blue, compt, goats cheese and. Normandy cream cheese all of which were bland and lacking punch – what is the world coming to ?

“I hope they read this and ask what is going wrong and change soon because until I hear there has been a major shake up I will not return.

“However service as always was perfect once I’d asked for the food to be slowed down it was coming thick and fast to begin with.”

Mirror Online has contacted the restaurant chain for a comment.

But it’s not all bad news for Gordon as other customers praised the service, leaving the restaurant 2,085 ‘Excellent’ reviews on Tripadvisor.

Whilst one person said: “Could not fault the food at all, one of the best meals we have ever had” another wrote: “I’m guessing Gordon has a talent for picking and motivating great staff, in addition to his culinary gifts?”
