Ruth Langford forced fans to do a double take as she debuted a dramatic new look with long hair extensions.

This Morning presenter Ruth, 60, is known for her signature short hairstyle but was seen with lengthy locks during a trip to the salon to get her ‘do fixed.

Taking to Instagram, Ruth – who is married to co-star Eamonn Holmes – shared a video of her getting her locks sorted out as the hairdresser popped her extension tapes back in.

Sat in the hot seat with a mask on, Ruth penned: “My hair extension tapes came out during lockdown and I hadn’t bothered replacing them….but I missed the extra body they give my hair.”

Ruth usually dons a signature short hairstyle

She added: “I don’t have them for extra length, just to add a bit of volume at the sides. My hair definitely got thinner because of menopause so these really help.”

Ruth has hair extensions added to give her hair more volume and they have to be put in long before being trimmed into her signature style.

Fans seemed to love Ruth’s youthful look as they rushed to the comments section to give their thoughts on the unrecognisable hairdo.

One fan penned: “I think you look lovely!”
