Alex Scott has broken her silence amid claims she will be the new host of Question of Sport.

The former Arsenal and England full-back is rumoured to replacing Sue Barker, who has been axed from the show after two decades.

But Alex has now said that the deal isn’t “signed sealed delivered” as she addressed the reports on her Instagram page on Friday afternoon.

She also thanked her fans for the support they’ve given her after she was trolled online about the rumours.

With a huge grin on her face, Alex posed in an Arsenal top as she pointed at the team’s logo in the accompanying picture.

Alex captioned the post: “The love & support shown to me yesterday has me smiling through the weekend #thankyou.

“I am going to #keeponkeepingon like always.

“The only thing that is signed sealed delivered that I am buzzing about right now though is….@Aubameyang7 @Arsenal #COYG.”

Alex added a laughing emoji to the light-hearted post.

It was thought that Alex’s job on the show had been confirmed by Gary Lineker, but she told fans that nothing is set in stone right now.

But the BBC denied the reports, saying in a statement: “This is all speculation and no conversations have been had about the future line-up.”

Sue was axed from the show alongside team captains Matt Dawson and Phil Tufnell.

After rumours that Alex would be one of the replacement she became the target of racist abuse.

She responded by sharing an anti-racist poem she had written, saying: “Some want to say I’m ticking a box, but that’s not me.”
