Kanye West begs for prayers as he ‘goes into battle’ with Universal and Sony

Kanye West has made it clear he’s logged back into Twitter as he erupted into yet another rant with countless tweets.

The rapper – who shares four kids with wife Kim Kardashian – furiously hit out at music labels for having ownership of artists’ records, including his.

In a series of countless tweets, Kanye went as far as share screenshots from his text conversations with his lawyer, as well as other people high up in the music industry.

In a desperate bid to get ownership of his masters, Kanye tweeted out a screenshot with his lawyer in which he admitted to not being open to “any form of business with Universal or Sony”.

Tweeting out the pic, he wrote: “No one from Universal or Sony has responded so it’s Go time.”

In a follow up tweet, the 43-year-old told fans he even got in touch with Vivendi – a company that owns Universal Music.

He wrote: “When I spoke to Katie Jacobs who is on the board of Vivendi we decided to create a ‘Y combinator’ for the music industry so artist have the power and transparency to to be in control of our future … no more shady contracts … no more life long deals.”

He explained: “The Y Combinator started companies like Dropbox and Airbnb. For the first time, it cleaned up contracts and made venture capital transparent. It empowered start ups with the tools to succeed and grow their businesses. It changed the Silicon Valley game.”

He continued: “Contracts in all industries need to be simplified now. Complicated contracts are how businesses, music companies and sports take advantage of talent.

“We will expose these contracts and make them transparent now support new talent, startups and amend all old contracts.”

Kanye went on to insinuate that he will be taking legal action against Universal and Sony, writing: “I need an army of angels to cover me while I pull this sword out of the stone … I need everyone’s prayers … I promise we will be free and own our masters but we must be faithful to God this time.

“The artist deserve to own our masters … artist are starving without tours … Ima go get our masters … for all artist … pray for me.”

The rapper – who lives with bipolar disorder – continued: “When you sign a music deal you sign away your rights. Without the masters you can’t do anything with your own music. Someone else controls where it’s played and when it’s played.

“Artists have nothing accept the fame, touring and merch.

“We’ve gotten comfortable with not having what we deserve … they allow us to have a little money from touring get some gold chains some alcohol some girls and fake numbers that feed our egos … but we don’t own our masters.”

In a separate set of tweets, Kanye hit out at Universal Music directly, insisting that the reason they won’t let him buy his masters according to him is because he “can afford it”.

He wrote: “UNIVERSAL WONT TELL ME WHAT MY MASTERS COST BECAUSE THEY KNOW I CAN AFFORD TO BUY THEM.

“Everyone please cover me in prayer … I AM ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS PEOPLE ON THE PLANET AND UNIVERSAL WONT TELL ME WHAT MY MASTERS COST BECAUSE THEY KNOW I CAN AFFORD THEM … BLACK MASTERS MATTER.”

He then asked for fans to pray for him

Kanye then turned all the attention onto his four kids; daughters North and Chicago, and sons Saint and Psalm.

He penned: “MY CHILDREN WILL OWN MY MASTERS … NOT YOUR CHILDREN … MY CHILDREN … MY CHILDREN … MY CHILDREN.”

As he prepares to take Universal Music down in a legal battle, he sternly warned that he will deal with Sony later.

“I need prayer I need coverage as I go into battle Everyone please pray for me … you know what the system never counted on … millions of prayers at once … everyone I appreciate your prayers so much”
