With summer’s end on our horizon, fans are already speculating which celebs will be taking to the rink in 2021’s Dancing On Ice series.

The hit ITV show is set to have beloved hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield return, as filming for the long-running entertainment show is reportedly set to kickstart in January.

Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, John Barrowman and Ashley Banjo are also expected to return to judging duties.

Rumours have been soaring about which familiar faces we’ll see lacing up their skates.

And with the coronavirus pandemic throwing the entertainment world into chaos over the last few months, ITV bosses are reportedly looking to make next year’s skating extravaganza the best yet.

Below, we take a look at some of the celebrities that were spotted heading to Dancing On Ice’s auditions back in July…

Presenters Holly and Phil are said to be returning as hosts

Denise van Outen

Denise Van Outen will reportedly be skating on the series

Denise Van Outen has reportedly signed up to take part in the next series of Dancing On Ice.

The 46-year-old, who took part in The Masked Singer last year, has reportedly signed a deal worth around £40,000.

ITV bosses are said to be thrilled that they have been able to sign her and reckon that she will be popular with viewers.

A source told the Daily Star Sunday : “After some top-secret negotiations, Denise was offered the chance to take part and she jumped at the chance.

“She’s signed a deal worth around £40,000.”

Denise has been tipped as a frontrunner on the show, given her extensive dance and theatre experience.

Another insider also told the publication: “Denise is going to have the edge on many of the other celebrities because she has plenty of experience of performing.

“However, there is no guarantee she will be able to skate well, so anything could happen.”

She appeared in Dancing On Ice’s rival show Strictly come Dancing back in 2012 and was partnered with James Jordan.

Jason Donovan

Jason Donovan is reportedly confirmed for next year’s Dancing On Ice

Neighbours star Jason Donovan has reportedly also been confirmed as the first celebrity to be starring on the show next year.

The 52-year-old has reportedly joined the line up, ten years after he appeared on Strictly Come Dancing.

Jason has enjoyed a successful music career as well as starring in a number of musicals, including playing the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

A source told The Sun : “Jason is a great signing for the show as he has plenty of star power. He knows how to dance but if he thinks it’ll be any help once he’s on the ice he has another thing coming.

“He’s hoping to rank higher in this show than he did on Strictly, he just needs to find out if he can stay upright once he has his skates on.”

Colin Jackson

Colin has reportedly signed up for Dancing On Ice

Colin Jackson is another celeb to have reportedly signed up to take part in Dancing On Ice next year.

The Olympic sprinter – who got to the final of Strictly Come Dancing back in 2005 – is keen to put his skates on and show the world his dance moves.

Speaking to The Sun, a source claimed that Colin, 53, is looking forward to dancing his way to the final once more.

The source said: “Colin is a real coup for Dancing On Ice as they already know he has moves.

“But being on skates means he’s unlikely to have any advantage over other contestants as it’s a tricky surface to master.”

The source added: “After Colin missed out on the glitterball trophy he’s keen to get his hands on the Ice version of it. Knowing just how competitive he is, he’s definitely one to watch out for.”

Rebekah Vardy

Rebekah Vardy has reportedly landed a big money deal to be a contestant on Dancing On Ice

Rebekah Vardy has reportedly landed a big money deal to be a contestant on Dancing On Ice amid her reported £1 million court case against rival WAG, Coleen Rooney.

The 38-year-old mother-of-five – who is married to 33-year-old football ace Jamie Vardy – is said to be getting a £50,000 pay cheque to star in the upcoming 13th season of Dancing On Ice.

The star is said to have auditioned for a role on the show as a means of escaping the stress of the ongoing Wagatha Christie trial – which saw Becky and 34-year-old rival Coleen, wife of footballer Wayne Rooney, launch legal action against each other amid accusations Rebekah leaked Coleen’s private life details to the press.

A source told The Sun on Sunday of the Dancing On Ice casting: “Landing Becky is a huge coup. She’ll bring star quality to their line-up and interest from footie fans.

“Of course viewers will be watching for any references to Wagatha Christie.”

The star is said to be keen to make a return to the spotlight after featuring on I’m A Celeb back in 2017.

The source said: “She can’t live under a shadow forever and wants to remind people she’s a fun mum.”

Faye Brookes

Faye Brookes is reportedly the latest celebrity to sign up for ITV’s Dancing On Ice.

It has been a year since the 33-year-old actress left Coronation Street and will be her first major TV appearance since walking away from the cobbles, where she had played Kate Connor.

Faye was due to fly Down Under in 2018 after signing up for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! but it was scuppered due to personal heartache following the collapse of her relationship with singer Gareth Gates.

Faye had been seeing the Pop Idol star for a while but they parted ways and she was not in the right place for the trials and tribulations of jungle life on the ITV show.

She will reportedly be starting rehearsals on ice ahead of the first live shows in January 2021.

A source told The Sun : “Faye will bring the glamour to the ice and DOI bosses are over the moon she’s chosen to put her skates on this year.”

The source added that her acting skills are “sure to impress the judges in the performance stakes.”

Wayne Bridge

Wayne Bridge – who is married to The Saturdays star Frankie – is hoping to swap his football boots for a pair of skates.

The 39-year-old retired England player wouldn’t be the first footballer to take to the ice on the show, with David Seaman, Lee Sharpe, Graeme Le Saux and Kevin Kilbane taking part in previous years.

Wayne has previously tackled the I’m A Celebrity jungle, so it would be interesting to see how he copes with the ice.
