Diogo Dalot is reportedly unhappy at his lack of game time at Manchester United – but he’s not being allowed to leave.

Former Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho signed Diogo Dalot in 2018, snapping up the highly-rated full-back for £19million from Porto.

Dalot made 23 appearances for United in his first season under Mourinho, and looked certain to replace Ashley Young long-term.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted to go in a different direction when he was named Red Devils boss, and splashed out £50m on Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Under Solskjaer Dalot made just 11 appearances in all competitions last season, and has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

The Portugal Under-21s international defender is desperate for more game time, either at Manchester United or at another club.

But according to Duncan Castles, talking on the Transfer Window podcast, Solskjaer has no intention of allowing the full-back to leave – much to Dalot’s frustration.

United have recently been linked with two full-backs, Sergio Reguilon and Alex Telles.

Reguilon impressed on loan at Sevilla from Real Madrid last season, while Telles is expected to leave Porto this month either to United or elsewhere.

Solskjaer has Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams at left-back, but is keen to strengthen his defence even more now that the new season is underway.
