Man Utd transfer round-up as Sergio Reguilon skips Real Madrid training
[ad_1]
After the progress Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made at Manchester United at the end of last season, the club’s supporters hoped a big summer in the transfer market would follow.
Donny van de Beek has arrived from Ajax, but that is the only major signing made by the Red Devils thus far.
However, with the transfer window not closing until October 5, United still have time to find and acquire the players they believe will improve the first team. A winger is wanted – a move to Jadon Sancho remains in the balance – and a left-back is also on Solskjaer’s wishlist.
And here is the latest transfer news involving Manchester United.
United target not training with Real
Sergio Reguilon has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford over the past week, and the left-back has been training away from the Real Madrid first team, per Marca.
Reguilon spent last season on loan at Europa League winners Sevilla and produced a number of eye-catching displays for the La Liga side.
Supposed interest from Chelsea ended after the Blues signed Ben Chilwell, but United are reportedly considering a move for the full-back with Solskjaer on the hunt for an alternative to Luke Shaw.
A fee of £25m could be enough to land Reguilon, who is behind Ferland Mendy and Marcelo at the Bernabeu.
Madrid to rival Upamecano move
Despite signing a new deal with RB Leipzig, Dayot Upamecano’s long-term future at the club remains uncertain.
The centre-back had a year remaining on his previous contract and was expected to leave the German side this summer. He instead re-signed with Leipzig but a £38 million release clause was included in his contract, which will become valid next summer.
United have been linked with a move for Upamecano once the 2020/21 season is concluded, and now it seems they will face competition.
Spanish outlet AS, via Sports Mole, claims Real Madrid are considering a move for the centre-back next year. Madrid are reportedly planning a major overhaul of their squad, and Upamecano is seen as a potential target to rebuild their backline.

After reported interest from Manchester United, Monaco vice-president Oleg Petrov has confirmed the club has little intention of selling young centre-back Benoit Badiashile.
“For us, it means a lot. He is a very good pair with Axel Disasi and he is part of the defence, which has been criticised a lot last season,” he told L’Equipe via Sports Mole.
“We have received serious expressions of interest in him, but it is not the idea that he will be leaving us this season. The coach and everyone at the club are counting on him.”
Despite only turning 19 years old in March, Badiashile has made almost 50 senior appearances and is viewed as a future France international.
