Lucy Spraggan writing ‘bombshell’ book about her time on The X Factor

Lucy Spraggan has revealed she is writing an autobiography which aims to lift the lid on her time on The X Factor and her subsequent fame.

The 29-year-old singer was releasing music as an unsigned, independent artist before she auditioned on season nine of the long running singing contest in 2012.

She featured on the same season as winner James Arthur and fellow chart successes Union J, Ella Henderson, and the singer-turned-presenter Rylan Clark.

Although she dropped out of the show, Lucy went on to release chart hits Lighthouse and Last Night (Beer Fear) in 2013 and now says she is sharing all about her life in her new self penned book.

Described by The Sun on Sunday as “a bombshell autobiography”, Lucy told the publication of her plans to write the book: “I’m actually writing a book at the moment called Are You That Girl?

“It’s because a lot of the questions I get are ‘Are you Lucy Spraggan? Are you the girl off X Factor? Are you Tea and Toast? Are you Beer Fear?’ like it is a huge part of my life — but it was nearly ten years ago.

“It was quite a stressful time but still an experience. It’s where people know me from and I still have positive views on that.”

The singer was a contestant on The X Factor back in 2012

Lucy has released four albums since her time on The X Factor – with a fifth, and her sixth overall, due for release next month.

The star has hinted that her upcoming record will features songs about her divorce.

She married girlfriend Georgina Gordon in June 2016, but they split in November last year.

Lucy previously opened up about her break up.

Explaining the split via Instagram last November, the star wrote: ‘It’s with sadness to let you know that after nearly 6 years of joy, fun and true love Georgina and I have decided to part ways.

‘We have shared the most amazing times and life together, and we are truly grateful for knowing love at its full capacity. We will continue on our paths as ultimate friends, and dog Mums, united by the bond and memories we will always have.”
