Gordon Ramsay is cooking up a mega chain of 200 new restaurants across the world.

The F-Word and Kitchen Nightmares star appears to be defying a global economic downturn by unveiling the plans.

The telly chef currently has 35 restaurants – 15 in London – and holds seven Michelin stars.

His move for 200 eateries is in contrast to long-term rival Jamie Oliver, who scaled back his empire because of a cash crisis.

Dad-of-five Ramsay, 53 – worth a reported £160million – revealed his bold plans in financial reports filed to Companies House last week.

Gordon Ramsay Holdings announced a pre-tax profit of £15.6million for the year to August 31, 2019.

It said in a statement: “GRNA (Gordon Ramsay North America) has exclusive rights to develop Gordon Ramsay branded restaurants in North America, Canada and the Caribbean where it has plans to open up to 200 restaurants as well as continuing to grow its very successful licence business with other partners.”

But the statement also warned of coronavirus : “The pandemic has had a significant impact on the group. It is difficult to estimate how the outbreak will impact trading and for how long and the directors consider this as a level of uncertainty over which they have no control.”

Last week the Sunday Mirror revealed Gordon was set for a lucrative deal with TikTok for serving recipe clips.

And he is also being lined up for British TV projects including a new
ITV quiz show called Bank Balance, which he  has trademarked.
