Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones is regarded as one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

But unlike other A-listers, the 50-year-old has swapped wild nights out for quiet nights in spent at home with her beloved husband, actor Michael Douglas, 75.

The Mask of Zorro actress married Michael in November 2000 and their love story is one that has stood the test of time throughout much hardship and setbacks.

The lovebirds share two children together – Dylan, 20, who was born three months after the two married in 2000 and daughter Carys who is now 17-years-old.

Catherine and Michael, who are one of Hollywood’s longest-standing couples, have stuck together through thick and thin during the tough times.

In 2010, Michael’s son from his previous marriage with ex-wife Diandra Luker received a five-year sentence for heroin possession.

Cameron, now, 41, then faced another two charges for smuggling drugs into prison before he was eventually released in 2016.

Throughout their 20-year marriage, Catherine has battled a crippling bipolar disorder, while being forced to bat off nasty rumours about her relationship with alcohol.

The starlet also spent years nursing her cancer-stricken husband who made them both a laughing stock in 2013 when he opened up about their fiery sex life.

After making a full recovery from his illness, Fatal Attraction actor Michael claimed that his throat cancer had not been caused by years of drinking and smoking.

Instead, he claimed that his illness had been brought about because he received far too much oral sex from his wife.

Following the embarrassment and hurt of Michael’s admission, in April 2011, it was revealed that Catherine was being treated for bipolar disorder.

Her five-day stay at the hospital in Connecticut, was also rumoured to be helping her battle a secret addiction to alcohol.

“really putting the wine away” in a restaurant.

Although the talented actress has been through much hardship throughout her career and marriage, she has now settled into a quiet life with her beloved family.

Instead of getting dolled up to-the-nine’s for glamorous awards shows and red-carpet events, the age-defying star much prefers to relax at her Hollywood mansion.

Much like the rest of the globe, Catherine discovered a new-found appreciation for time spent at home with family during the coronavirus lockdown.

Taking to Instagram, the starlet regularly updated fans on her quieter life throughout the pandemic.

On May 18th, Catherine stunned her 3.5 million followers when she swapped red-carpet glamour for an at home pamper session.

The brunette bombshell left jaws on the floor as she elegantly posed up a storm in a sensational sequined bath gown.

Proving that she had truly come to love her new chilled out lifestyle following a tumultuous couple of years, the actress insisted that her ideal Sunday night consisted of a bath and a large pizza instead of buckets of champagne and being surrounded by high-profile Hollywood stars.

“Bath, Pizza and Bed for me. Sunday night. Have a great new week ahead everyone” she captioned the stunning shot.

In July, Catherine shared a gorgeous snap of herself lapping up the summer sunshine as she relaxed on an outdoor couch.

“Lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer. Happy Sunday” she captioned the sizzling shot as she gazed contently into the camera lens.

On Father’s Day this year, Catherine melted hearts when she posted a wholesome throwback photograph of her gorgeous family in celebration of the father of her children.

While cradling her son Dylan, Michael hugged the couple’s daughter Carys while he planted a kiss on his wife’s forehead.

Alongside the precious snapshot of family life, Catherine penned: “We love you Michael, Happy Father’s Day my love”.

The gorgeous throwback proved just how much the couple had been through down through the years, and that despite their hardship and setbacks, they have managed to stay as in love with one another as the day they first met.

It makes sense that Catherine once defiantly declared: “I will never get divorced”, before
insisting that she and Michael are together till death do us part.

During a 2014 interview, a close friend of Michael’s spoke out about their love when he revealed: “He hasn’t looked at another woman since he met all those years ago.”
