Television presenter Mark Wright is looking set for another attempt to crack the United States.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star, 33, has appeared in US television shows in the past but now is reportedly hoping a new series will take off in the States.

An insider told The Sun: “Mark is a natural in front of the camera and the American audience loved his cheeky persona and his Essex accent.”

It is hoped that the former TOWIE star will find success with his latest TV pilot, which is understood by the Mirror to have been filmed last month in the UK and if picked up would continue to film in Mark’s home country.

The new show could see him capitalise on his success as a roving reporter on US show Extra.

It is suggested that he hopes to replicate the success of his friend James Corden who has become a late-night chat show sensation since his move Stateside.

The paper reports that if Mark finds success in the US then his actress wife Michelle Keegan, 33, will consider relocating to the States with him.

Mark returned to the UK two years ago after an extended time chasing his dreams in LA, as he struggled to live apart from Michelle who stayed in the UK whilst also flying abroad to film her show Our Girl.

While open to the possibilities, it seems the couple is taking each day as it comes.

Michelle is reportedly considering moving to the US to support Mark’s dreams

“For the moment they are just hoping this pilot makes it overseas as that will help build Mark’s profile in the States,” added the The Sun’s source.

“Anything that comes from it is a bonus and they will make the decisions as and when they come.”

Mirror Online has reached out to representatives of Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan for comment.

Michelle’s series Our Girl was recently cancelled by BBC One following her departure from the show earlier this year.

Our Girl creator Tony Grounds revealed to Radio Times : “With the finale of series four showing Georgie ready to move on with her life, it feels like the right time for us to do the same.”

However, the creator teased that perhaps it is not the last we have seen of Michelle’s Georgie.

He added: “Michelle and I are keen to continue our working relationship and, who knows, maybe we’ll catch up with Georgie in the future.”
