What happened to my family is Punjab was beyond horrible. My uncle was slaughtered to death, my bua & both my cousins had sever injuries. Unfortunately my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua is still very very critical & is on life support.

Till date we don’t know what exactly had happened that night & who did this. I request @PunjabPoliceInd to look into this matter. We at least deserve to know who did this heinous act to them. Those criminals should not be spared to commit more crimes. @capt_amarinder @CMOPb

Suresh Raina had flown back to India from UAE on Saturday and there were murmurs that attacks by robbers on his relatives in Punjab’s Pathankot can be one of the reasons for his massive decision.
Earlier reports had suggested that Raina’s 58-year-old uncle was killed by the robbers on the midnight of August 19 while he was sleeping on the terrace. In the attack by robbers 4 other family members were severely injured. Raina has now confirmed the incident saying his uncle died in the fatal attack. Raina added that his brother battled for life for days before succumbing to his injuries. In more sad news the Chennai Super Kings star said that his Aunt was on life support and in critical situation.
In his second tweet, Suresh Raina urged Punjab police and state CM Captain Amarinder Singh to look into the matter. The 33-year-old said that his family deserved to know who did this to his family and what happened on the night of crime. The UP-born added that “those criminals should not be spared” and stopped from doing further crimes.
Suresh Raina had retired from international cricket on August 15 along with his CSK captain MS Dhoni. The southpaw was gearing to ply his trades in the much awaited IPL 2020 in UAE. IPL’s second hightest run-scorer Suresh Raina, was also part of CSK’s 6-day training camp ahead of his team’s departure to UAE.
