Chennai Super Kings batsman has finally reacted to the ‘slaughtering’ of his uncle in Punjab’s Pathankot and urged state police and CM Captain Amarinder Singh to look in to the matter.

There were a lot of speculations doing the rounds when Suresh Raina flew back to India and decided the miss the entire IPL 2020. With his Twitter post Raina has put a fullstop to all the speculations.

Suresh Raina had flown back to India from UAE on Saturday and there were murmurs that attacks by robbers on his relatives in Punjab’s Pathankot can be one of the reasons for his massive decision.

Earlier reports had suggested that Raina’s 58-year-old uncle was killed by the robbers on the midnight of August 19 while he was sleeping on the terrace. In the attack by robbers 4 other family members were severely injured. Raina has now confirmed the incident saying his uncle died in the fatal attack. Raina added that his brother battled for life for days before succumbing to his injuries. In more sad news the Chennai Super Kings star said that his Aunt was on life support and in critical situation.

In his second tweet, Suresh Raina urged Punjab police and state CM Captain Amarinder Singh to look into the matter. The 33-year-old said that his family deserved to know who did this to his family and what happened on the night of crime. The UP-born added that “those criminals should not be spared” and stopped from doing further crimes.

Suresh Raina had retired from international cricket on August 15 along with his CSK captain MS Dhoni. The southpaw was gearing to ply his trades in the much awaited IPL 2020 in UAE. IPL’s second hightest run-scorer Suresh Raina, was also part of CSK’s 6-day training camp ahead of his team’s departure to UAE.
