Lady Gaga stole the show at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards with an array of impressive outfits and five awards under her belt.

The legendary pop princess, 34, affirmed her iconic status at Sunday’s New York event by accepting her awards in a selection of different outfits – all with Chromatica-inspired masks.

The event, which was held across New York’s five boroughs, saw a host of A-listers dazzle on the red carpet at the socially distanced event.

The first of Lady Gaga’s many outfit changes saw the Bad Romance legend descend on the red carpet with a glass globe on her head.

Channelling a futuristic vibe, the bombshell opted for a poofy metallic ensemble paired with impossibly sky-high platform heels.

In what would be one of many dramatic outfit changes, Lady Gaga’s first stage appearance then featured a peacock-inspired fringe dress as well as a dystopian bright pink face mask.

Accepting the award for best collaboration for her track alongside Ariana Grande, it would be one of many appearances for Gaga – despite there not being an audience at the event.

The songstress – who had been nominated for nine awards – was far from finished, and next took to the stage in an elegant green dress and leather horned face mask.

Switching up her outfits for one of the most anticipated performances of the evening, Gaga then slipped into a leather-clad cut out look as she sang alongside Ariana Grande.

This time, her mask offered its own neon light show.

The Chromatica star was far from done and then opted for an enormous fluffy coat and metallic face mask that matched her reflective outfit.

Accepting MTV VMA’s first ever Tricon award, the star ensured she put on yet another show stopping appearance with her dramatic costume changes.

Next up her sleeve, Lady Gaga opted for a metallic cape alongside a futuristic head dress as she accepted her final award of the evening.

“Just because we’re separated right now, and culture may feels less alive in some ways, I know a Renaissance is coming,” the singer said, as she accepted her fifth award.

The songstress channelled a futuristic vibe throughout her appearances

“The wrath of pop culture will inspire you and the rage of art will empower you as it responds to hardship with its generosity and love. This is what I believe. I want nothing more than to be your artist in 2020, it’s a total privilege.

“Stay safe, speak your mind, and I might sound like a broken record, but wear a mask — it’s a sign of respect.”

The music icon went home with awards for artist of the year, song of the year, best cinematography, best collaboration for Rain on Me and the Tricon award.
