Michael’s doctor, Conrad Murray, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter relating to the singer’s death and sentenced to four years in jail.

The singer signed a contract for a series of O2 concerts which were due to take place a month after his death.

A book by Dylan Howard on the legendary singer claims that by January 2009 the star’s judgment was addled by drugs and fear of financial ruin.

In Bad: An Unprecedented Investigation into the Michael Jackson Cover-up, Dylan Dylan claims Jackson panicked about the shows.

He also claims he was so obsessed with insomnia he begged his doctor, Conrad Murray, to knock him out with strong sedatives and painkillers on the night he died.

Michael found fame with the Jackson 5 before becoming a hugely successful solo artist, with his hits earning him the title King of Pop.

His physical appearance changed drastically and has been at the centre of child sex abuse allegations. He fathered three children before his death.
