Robertson and Klopp detail Mane ‘bust-up’ during Premier League clash

Jurgen Klopp and Andy Robertson have lifted the lid on a half-time bust-up between the Liverpool defender and teammate Sadio Mane.
Robertson and Mane played an influential role in helping Klopp’s Reds secure a memorable Premier League title triumph last season.
But just a week before facing fierce rivals Manchester City back in November, things got a little heated during a contest against Aston Villa.
With Liverpool losing 1-0 at half-time, Mane and Robertson had a heated discussion in the Villa Park dressing room.
It seemed to work, however, with late goals from the pair securing a much-needed 2-1 win for the Reds; and now Klopp and Robertson have opened up on the incident.

“Want to talk about half time?”, Klopp asked Robertson during a video for BT Sport ahead of Saturday’s FA Community Shield between Liverpool and Arsenal at Wembley.
“The first time me and Sadio ended up falling out”, recalled the full back.
Klopp continued, “At half time, nobody could have thought these two players would end up deciding the game.”
Robertson replied “We should maybe try it more often if it gets me some more goals!”

Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Klopp insists he is not regarding Saturday’s Community Shield against Arsenal as a friendly.
The curtain-raiser to the new season comes just five weeks after the Premier League champions wrapped up their 2019-20 campaign and they have been back in training for just a fortnight.
Klopp said at a press conference: “I’d be surprised if we played our best game of the season – but it’s not a friendly, it’s a proper match against Arsenal.”

The boss also feels he has to make the most of a situation that is not ideal.
He said: “Would I want to play a proper game after two weeks’ preparation? No. But we’ve known about it for a while.
“We don’t have friendlies, we have testing games. It’s a competition and it’s rare you have perfect time to prepare for a game.”
