Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity has been steadily increasing on the micro-blogging site Twitter and his number of followers has increased to 60 million. PM Modi joined Twitter in January 2009. According to the Prime Minister’s Twitter handle, his number of followers has reached 60 million. The number of followers of Modi in September-19 was five crore.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who holds a prominent place in PM Modi’s cabinet, has 16 million followers on Twitter. Amit Shah, a former Bharatiya Janata Party president, joined Twitter in May 2013.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who has been active on Twitter since April 2013, has one crore 78 lakh followers. Twitter followers of former Congress president and MP from Wayanad in Kerala have one crore 52 lakh. Rahul joined it in April 2015, although his mother and Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have a very small number of Twitter followers.
