Rhea Chakraborty files FIR against Instagram users for sending her rape and death threats
Rhea Chakraborty filed an FIR against two Instagram users on Saturday for sending her rape and death threats.
After Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, trolls targeted Rhea Chakraborty, blaming her for the actor’s death. Earlier, Rhea had shared a screenshot of rape and murder threats she received from an Instagram holder.
Now, the actress has registered a complaint at Mumbai’s Santacruz police station against two Instagram account holders for sending her obscene messages and threats.
A police officer informed, “On complaint of Rhea Chakraborty, an offence is registered at Santacruz police station against two Instagram account holders for sending obscene messages and threatening.”
Mumbai Police have filed FIR under Section 507 (Criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication), 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC and Section 66 of IT act.
According to police officials, Rhea came to the Santacruz police station on Saturday and filed the FIR. She gave the details of the two Instagram account holders who allegedly threatened her of rape and murder.
The cops have identified the two account holders and will soon nab them.

Earlier, Rhea shared a screenshot of the message she received from an Instagram holder, who threatened to get her raped and killed.
She shared the post saying, “I was called a gold digger ..I kept quiet I was called a murderer ….I kept quiet I was slut shamed ….I kept quiet But how does my silence give you the right to tell me that you will get me RAPED and MURDERED if I don’t commit suicide @mannu_raaut?”
She added, “Do you realize the seriousness of what you have said? These are crimes, and by law no one, I repeat NO ONE should be subjected to this kind of toxicity and harassment. I request @cyber_crime_helpline @cybercrimeindia to please take necessary action. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH (sic).”
Rhea Chakraborty and Sushant Singh Rajput were in a relationship for some time. Sushant died by suicide on June 14. Mumbai’s Bandra police is investigating his death.
