Bhojpuri star Rani chatterjee reveals how her name was changed from Sabiha, to shoot in Gorakhpur temple
Bhojpuri actress Rani Chatterjee is known for her outstanding performance. She has given many superhit films in her 16-year career. Very few people would know that Rani’s real name is Sabiha. Rani stepped into the entertainment world with the film father-in-law Bada Paisawala and during the shooting of this film she was named Rani Chatterjee from Sabiha. There is an interesting story behind this, which Rani shared during an exclusive conversation with ‘Live Hindustan’.
Rani said, “I was given a break in the film Sasura Bada Paisawala. The first day of the shoot was at Gorakhnath temple. Then I did not know that my name was going to change, because I am from a Muslim family and my name is Sabiha. If you have seen ‘Sasura Bada Paisawala’, then I have a temple song in it. In the last shot of this song, I bang my head near the idol of Bholenath. ”
“So that was the first day’s shooting.” At that time there was a lot of media. The director felt that perhaps he would be bad for the film if he was not allowed to take the shot because of my name. He told me that right now you do not tell your name. In the film, my character’s name was Rani, so the director said that for today you tell your name Rani. I said ok All the media persons there, they asked me what is your name and where are you from? So I said my name is Rani and I am from Mumbai.
