Athiya Shetty joined the bandwagon of actors in Bollywood who received guidance and mentorship from none other than Salman Khan in the industry. She made her big Bollywood debut with ‘Hero’, a Salman Khan production opposite Sooraj Pancholi. Opening up about her equation with the ‘Dabangg’ star, Athiya told a news portal that she is in touch with Salman Khan. She added that she considers him a mentor and that he will always be the first person she calls whenever she needs any advice. According to Athiya, Salman is very encouraging and supportive.

She also spoke about working with her father Suniel Shetty in the future. She reportedly said that if she gets a suitable script, she would love to work with him. However, according to her, it should be a father-daughter film or something fun.
Talking about approaching filmmakers for work, Athiya added that she feels that before you start calling directors for work, you need to be able to give them something on par with your acting calibre. The actress also added that she is just a few films old and that she wants to show her acting capabilities before taking the privilege to call directors for work.
