Delhi : Bunty-Babli style: As husband rode scooty, wife snatched phones; both arrested
Most of the time, the husband used to ride the scooty and his wife used to snatch phones.
Delhi Police has arrested a snatcher duo who are husband and wife and committed dozens of snatchings in the city in ‘Bunty-Babli style’. It was being reported in recent days that a couple riding on a white-coloured scooty were carrying out snatchings in the central district.
After the reports, a team led by Inspector Madhukar Rakesh SHO DBG Road under the supervision of ACP Pahar Ganj Omprakash Lekhwal was constituted and roped into the matter to bust the culprit couple.
The team started its investivation, during which it was found that the woman used to snatch the phone as a pillion rider.
Hundreds of dossiers with same modus operandi were searched but nothing could be substantiated. After that, the team started to collect and analyse CCTV footage of the crime scenes as well as the escaping route used by the duo.
One CCTV footage found showed a couple but its resolution was too poor to identify their faces. But this visual gave the team the couple’s physical structure and team started to search for them.
The team further received information about a couple from Paharganj area were behind the snatchings.
The information was investigated and finally the team succeeded apprehending the husband and wife from Railway Colony Kishanganj with the stolen property.
The man was identified as Arjun alias Karan, who is resident of Multani Dhanda, Paharganj and his wife as Vaishali Kaushal. Four mobile phones and one stolen scooty were recovered from their possession.
The accused Arjun is an active criminal of central Delhi as well as he is declared ‘Bad Character’ of central Delhi.

Previously, he has been involved in 31 cases and he is a drug addict.
Three months ago, he got married to Vaishali who is a resident of Manakpura, Karol Bagh. She is a tattoo artist and also a drug addict. To fulfill their requirement of drugs, first they stole the scooty from Raghubir Nagar and then started the snatchings with the stolen scooty.
Most of the time, Arjun used to ride the scooty and Vaishali used to snatch phones. The woman had even snatched the mobile phone of an on duty security guard of PP Jewellers, Karol Bagh.
