Ramadan 2020 expected to start on 24 April
The holy month of Ramadan is set to begin on Friday, April 24, an astronomer in the UAE has predicted. According to Ibrahim Al Jarwan, member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Science, the holy month of Ramadan is expected to start on the Friday, subject to the moon sighting.

“The crescent moon of Ramadan will be born on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at 6.26am,” Ibrahim told Emarat Al Youm.
This means that the first day of Eid Al Fitr will fall on May 24 2020, on a Sunday, according to the Hijri calendar. The Eid holiday is predicted to run for three days, from 24 to 26, with work resuming on the Thursday.
