Arun Govil Tv’s Ram’s fake Twitter account goes viral, said – This account is not mine
Fact Check. A fake Twitter account has been created in the name of actor Arun Govil, who played the role of Shriram in Ramanand Sagar’s mythological serial Ramayana. This fake account was created on April 4 and within a few hours more than 44 thousand followers were added to it. Thousands of likes and retweets also arrived. A Twitter account called Arun Govil wrote, ‘Finally I joined Twitter, Jai Shri Ram’.
- After this account went viral, news came in that it was a fake account. Arun Govil himself confided in a conversation with The Quint that someone in his name has created a fake account. He said, this is not my account. I’m already on Twitter and my Twitter handle is @ ArunGovil12. I have applied for verification and will be more active with my account.
- Ever since the telecast of Ramayana on Doordarshan resumed, the serial has broken all TRP records. Arun Govil also got recognition from Ram’s acting. Everyday two episodes of Ramayana are being telecasted at 9 to 10 am and at the same time in the night. In the first week itself, 17 million people watched the Ramayana serial. DD has also started airing Mahabharata, Circus and Byomkesh Bakshi again.
