Australia’s legendary spinner Shane Warne has named former captain and presently chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Sourav Ganguly as the captain of his all-time Indian XI, but VVS Laxman, who showed him the day’s star, did not find a place in this team.
Warne has also kept Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and Navjot Singh Sidhu in this team. Warne said that he ignored former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and current captain Virat Kohli because he has chosen the team only from the players against whom he has played.
Warne said on the Instagram post, ‘I am choosing only those players against whom I played and hence Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli are not being part of this team. While Dhoni is one of the all-time wicketkeeper batsmen of this game, Kohli is one of the all-time batsmen of all formats.
Warne has also ignored Laxman. Whom he once said was his tough rival. He said that to keep Ganguly in the team, this artistic Hyderabad batsman had to be dropped from the team. He said, ‘I chose Ganguly because I wanted to make him captain of my team and hence Laxman did not get a place in the team.’
