The All England Club announced the cancellation of Wimbledon at an emergency meeting on Wednesday. This year the tournament was to be played from 29 June to 12 July.
Now the next edition of Wimbledon will be played in 2021 from 28 June to 11 July. This tournament was first held in 1877. And since then, this tournament has been held every year except on two occasions. This prestigious tournament could not be held until 1915–18 due to World War I for the first time and 1940–45 due to World War II.
Wimbledon has now been included in sports events to be completely canceled in 2020 due to the Corona epidemic. The Tokyo Olympics has already been postponed for a year. While the second Grand Slam tennis tournament of the year, the French Open has been postponed. Now this tournament will be held in September instead of May.
