Earlier in the week, security at Gate No 1 of Parliament was sent on alert as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Vinod Kumar Sonkar’s car was damaged after spikes placed at a distance of a boom barrier at the gate got activated when the car accidentally touched the boom barrier.
The Member of Parliament’s car accidentally came in contact with the boom barriers installed at the entrance of the complex.
BJP MP Vinod Kumar Sonkar was on his way to work when the car he was travelling in accidentally touched the boom barrier placed at Gate No. 1 of the Parliament complex. As the car touched the barrier, the spikes at the gate got activated — causing damage to the MP’s car. The car’s tyres were slashed by the security spikes.
Hearing the commotion the security personnel on spot took position as per protocol. However, it was later clarified that the car belonged to MP Vinod Sonkar. A video from the spot shows security personnel aiming guns at the entrance after the accident.
