Malang hit screens on February 7 (Tuesday). The film stars Disha Patani, Aditya Roy Kapur, Anil Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu in pivotal roles.
Disha Patani and Aditya Roy Kapur-starrer Malang is faring well at the box office. Directed by Mohit Suri, the film also stars Anil Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu.
After opening with a collection of Rs 6.72 crore, Malang went on to earn Rs 8.89 crore and Rs 9.76 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. It minted Rs 4.04 crore on Monday and with a collection of Rs 3.8 crore on Day 5, the film stood at a collection of Rs 33.2 crore till Tuesday. Malang is expected to earn Rs 3 crore on Wednesday.
While Malang received mixed response from film critics, it is quite popular among cine-goers. It witnessed an upward growth in its first weekend, but the collection saw a slump on Monday. Since then, the film is experiencing a slowdown at the box office. However, according to trade analysts, Malang is Aditya Roy Kapur’s highest grossing film in the opening weekend till now (this includes his solo films only).
Apart from stellar star-cast, Malang also boasts of its spectacular scenes shot in Goa. The audience is in love with the way the tourist destination has been picturised in the film.
Malang is expected improve its collection in the upcoming weekend. However, the release of Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal in the Valentine’s weekend will have a negative impact on the Disha Patani and Aditya Roy Kapur-starrer. Love Aaj Kal sees the romance between Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan.
