LK Advani Couldn’t Hold Back Tears After Watching Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Shikara
New Delhi: Senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani became very emotional after watching ‘Shikara’, a film on the deportation of Kashmiri Pandits. Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra has shared a video of this on Twitter, in which he is seen consoling Advani. Advani reached a special screening of this film with daughter Pratibha. The film was released on Friday only. Vidhu Vinod Chopra is seen kneeling down beside the politician as he turns emotional after the screening .
A day ago, actor Aamir Khan tweeted, “Vinod: Best wishes to you.” ‘Shikara’ is a film that is made on one of the saddest events of our recent history. This is a story that needs to be told.
The film is very close to Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who has donned the director’s hat for the first time since 2007, when he made Eklavya: The Royal Guard .
- The film is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Fox Star Studios. 2 newcomers from Shikara, Adil Khan and Saadia are debuting. The film is shot in Jagati, the largest refugee camp for Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir and Jammu. About 4000 Kashmiri Pandits have acted in this film.
- Vidhu Vinod Chopra wrote in a tweet, “This film is my objection. The incidents with Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir and 1990 are not a source of money for me. This is the reality, which I myself have lived. “
- Earlier on Friday, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court dismissed the petition seeking a stay on the film’s release. The petitioners claim that the entire Kashmiri population has been blamed for the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in this film.
