Instagram : I’m Getting an Error Message

I’m getting the message, “Error: You can’t follow any more people” on Instagram.

To help reduce spam, Instagram doesn’t allow anyone to follow more than 7,500 people.

Anyone who tries to follow more than 7,500 people will see an error message, regardless of how many followers they have. Anyone who’s currently following more than 7,500 people did so before this change was made.

What can I do if my Instagram account has been disabled?

If your Instagram account was disabled, you’ll see a message telling you when you try to log in. Accounts that don’t follow our Community Guidelines or Terms of Use may be disabled without warning. We suggest that you review the Community Guidelines carefully along with the posts on all accounts you’ve created. Keep in mind, we may permanently remove an account that repeatedly violates the Community Guidelines or Terms of Use.

If you think your account was disabled by mistake, you may be able to appeal the decision by opening the app, entering your username and password and following the on-screen instructions.

If you don’t see a disabled message, you may be experiencing a login issue. If your account was deleted by you or someone with your password, there’s no way to restore it. You can create a new account with the same email address you used before, but you may not be able to get the same username.

I can’t delete a comment on Instagram.

If you keep getting an error message that a comment can’t be deleted, it may be because the comment was already deleted in our system. The comment may still appear because you’re viewing an old version of the page. We’re aware of this issue and are working on a fix.

Keep in mind that you’re only able to delete your own comments or comments that are on your own post. You can’t delete another person’s comments on a post that isn’t yours. Learn more about deleting comments.

I get an error when trying to add a comment on Instagram.

If you’re not able to add a comment, first try updating your app to the latest version.

If your Instagram app is up to date, you may be getting an error for another reason. Keep in mind that:

  • You can’t include more than 5 @ mentions in a single comment.
  • You can’t include more than 30 hashtags in a single comment.
  • You can’t post the same comment multiple times (including emoji).
