Report: SEBI may conduct forensic audit against Infosys; The company said – SEBI did not ask for investigation

BENGALURU: IT company Infosys said on Friday that SEBI has not asked for a re-investigation into the whistleblower’s complaint. Infosys gave this clarification because it is being said that the stock market regulator SEBI can conduct forensic audit of the accounts of Infosys. The Audit Committee of Infosys has given a clean chit to CEO Salil Parekh and CFO Nilanjan Roy. Both were accused of mismanaging accounting to increase profits.
Investigation of whistleblower allegations in America as well
Infosys first reported the whistleblower allegations in October. The company investigated the allegations with the help of an independent law firm. Infosys is also listed on the US stock market. So the regulator Security and Exchange Commission also started an investigation into the allegations of the whistleblower.
Infosys shares fall 0.20%
The stock closed at Rs 782.95, down 0.20% on the BSE. The NSE closed down 0.17% at Rs 783.
