Runner Sufiya Khan, who runs 4,035 km in 87 days to give the message of peace and peace in 22 cities of the country, sets a record
- Sufiya started the journey from 25 April 2019 to connect people across the country with ‘Mission Hope’.
- The yatra was completed on 21 July, for which the Guinness World Record was recently awarded.
RAJASTHAN: The 33-year-old runner Sufia Khan, who lives in Ajmer, Rajasthan, has made the record by running 4,035 km in 87 days. Sufia completed the distance from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in 87 days, 2 hours and 17 minutes for her ‘Mission Hope’. His aim was to visit 22 cities of the country and meet people and convey the message of brotherhood, unity, peace, equality. For this, he has been awarded the Guinness World Record.
What is mission hope:
According to Sufia, she embarked on a journey to deliver the message of humanity, unity, peace and equality to the people of the country. Their mission means Hope, H – Humanity, O – Oneness (Unity), P – Peace, E – Equality. The goal was to complete the race in 100 days but he completed that goal in 87 days. She says that I was welcomed to the cities I visited during my mission ‘Mission Hope’. The locals also ran with me.
My achievement is dedicated to every person involved in the campaign
According to Sufia, she is grateful to those who supported her in the mission and became part of the family. The elders treated me like a daughter and cared for me. Especially when I was not even in a walking position, people helped like angels. On receiving the Guinness Book World Records certificate, he said, “This is not my only achievement.” This is the achievement of all the people associated with the mission and I dedicate it to all of them. The way I met people of every religion during the journey, ”says Sufia.All this was giving them the message of humanity. The country of India is made up of different religions and cultures. Today, a person is moving away from moral values, brotherhood and culture to achieve material happiness which is not a good sign for the future.
Record was also made in 2018: Sufia completed a distance of 720 km in 16 days in 2018, becoming the first female runner to do so. His name has been included in the Indian Book of Records for this achievement. Sufia was born into a middle-class family in Ajmer. At the age of just 16, he lost his father. The entire responsibility of parenting was on the mother. Sufia briefly worked in an airline company but quit her job to fulfill her passion.
