U19 WC : Unique match of under-19 cricket, not a single batsman of Japan team could touch double figures

Bloemfontein: Defending champions India registered their second consecutive win in the tournament after beating Japan by 10 wickets in their second match of Group-A of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa. After winning the toss, India bowled first to pile up Japan for 41 runs and then achieved the target in 4.5 overs without losing any wickets. With this victory, India is almost certain to reach the next round.

For the Indian team, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 29 not out with the help of five fours and a six off 18 balls and Kumar Kushagra scored 13 not out with the help of two fours off 11 balls.

After this win, the Indian team has been four points from two matches in Group A and they are firmly in the top position in the points table. New Zealand and Japan are in second and third position with one point each.

This is the second-lowest combined total ever scored by any team in the Under-19 World Cup. Canada and Bangladesh have also been all out for 41–41 runs in the Under-19 World Cup.

Japan’s first two wickets fell at a total of five runs. Captain and wicketkeeper Marcus Thurgate was bowled by Karthik Tyagi after scoring one run. After this, Ravi Bishnoi dismissed Neil Date (0) on a total of five runs.

The wicket of Shu Noguchi, who scored seven runs, fell to a total of 14 runs. Bishnoi was bowled by Shu. After this, Japan lost the wicket of Kazumasa Takahashi (0) on a total of 14 runs.

Ishan Fartayal (0) was dismissed for a total of 19 runs, and Ashley Thurgate (0) and Debashish Sahu (0) also walked on the same total.

Not a single batsman from Japan’s team could touch the figure of Dahi. From India, Akash Singh took two and Vidyadhar Patil also took a wicket.

India beat Sri Lanka by 90 runs in their first match, while Japan got one point from their first match. Japan went into the match against New Zealand in their first match, but the match was canceled due to rain and both teams were awarded one point each.
