Congress bids on IMF GDP estimates- Modi’s ministers will now attack Geeta Gopinath
Former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram and former Law Minister Kapil Sibal said that now the Minister of Modi Government will attack IMF and Chief Economist Geeta Gopinath.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has given a big shock to the Modi government. According to IMF estimates, in 2019-20, India’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate will be only 4.8 percent. Following this IMF estimate, the Congress targeted the Modi government. Former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram and former Law Minister Kapil Sibal said that now Modi government minister IMF and Chief Economist will attack Geeta Gopinath.
Congress leader P. Chidambaram said, ‘IMF Chief Economist Geeta Gopinath was one of those who condemned demonetisation. I think we should prepare ourselves for the attack of the IMF and the ministers of the government on Dr. Geeta Gopinath. Even after all the efforts, the GDP will remain 4.8 percent. I will not be surprised if this gets reduced further. The IMF’s reality check will have a growth rate of less than 5 percent to 4.8 percent in 2019-20.
At the same time, Kapil Sibal said, ‘IMF reduced India’s GDP to 4.8% for 2019-20. The world economy will go down. People all over India, young and old, are performing (which cannot be identified with their worn clothes), show that Modi and Amit Shah’s pair is weakening Indian democracy.
