BJP leader and grandson of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on CAA – ‘You can’t play fear politics if you have numbers’

Earlier, he had raised many questions about the citizenship law. Last month he wrote tweeting that India is a country which is open to religions and communities at times.

New Delhi: Chandra Kumar Bose, leader of Bharatiya Janata Party and grandson of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, has given a statement amid the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Chandra Kumar Bose has suggested his party to the BJP and said that people should know about the benefits of the Citizenship Amendment Act. With this, he said that just because we have the numbers today, we cannot do politics of intimidation. News agency ANI quoted him as saying, ‘I have suggested to my party leadership that with a slight amendment the campaign of the entire opposition can be stopped. We need to specifically state that this atrocity is for the minorities, we should not mention any religion. We have to change our perspective.
He has also said, ‘When a bill is passed as a law, it becomes legally binding on the state governments, but in a democratic country you cannot force any law on citizens. Our job is to convince people that we are right and they are wrong. Just because we have the numbers today, we cannot do politics of intimidation. We should tell people about the benefits of citizenship law.

Let me tell you that earlier, he had raised many questions about the citizenship law. Last month, he wrote in tweeting that India is a country which is open to religions and communities. Bose had tweeted, ‘If the citizenship amendment law is not related to any religion then why only Hindu, Sikh, Buddha, Christian, Parsi and Jain are included in it. Why Muslims were not included in it like him. It needs to be transparent
