NHAI issued tollfree number to find out your fastag balance
People using Fastag will be able to know how much balance is there in Fastag by just a missed call. The Indian Highways Management Company has provided this service. This facility is absolutely free. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is the promoter of the Indian Highways Management Company.Fastag consumers who have registered their mobile number with NHAI can check the balance of their NHAI prepaid wallet by giving a missed call from their mobile number at 91-8884333331. This toll free number will work round the clock.
Message will come when there is less balance
If more than one vehicle is connected to NHAI prepaid wallet, then the balance of all Fastags on each vehicle will be communicated through message. If there is a low balance in the fastag of a vehicle, a separate SMS will be sent to the registered mobile number.
1.15 crore Fastags have been released so far
NHAI has released more than 1.15 crore fastags till January 1. Daily transactions worth Rs 52 crore are being done through fastg. The fastag has been brought in to relieve the highway jam.
Earning more than 40 crores daily
Since the implementation of the FASTAG system, the government has started earning more than Rs 40 crore from these toll plazas in December. So far more than 1.15 crore fastags have been issued under the electronic toll collection system. NHAI has said that now about 1 lakh Fastag is being sold daily.
Fastag will also be able to pay for parking and fuel
- Apart from collecting tax on toll tax, fuel payment and vehicle parking charge can also be paid across the country soon. It has started at Hyderabad Airport, where car parking and other charges will be paid by FASTag. It will be known as Fastag 2.0. After the success in Hyderabad, the project will also be started at Delhi Airport.
- The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways informed that the Fastag 2.0 pilot project has been launched in two phases. The first phase is actually a controlled pilot test, under which only ICICI tags will be used. The second phase of the pilot project will cover the tags issued by all other banks.
