Actress Shabana Azmi injured in road accident
Mumbai: Actress Shabana Azmi has been injured in a road accident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway in Raigad district of Maharashtra on Saturday afternoon. Raigad Superintendent of Police Anil Paraskar said that the accident occurred sometime near Khalapur, 60 km from Mumbai, at around 3:30 pm. The car that Azmi was traveling in collided with the truck. He told that Azmi has been taken to MGM Hospital in Navi Mumbai. She is undergoing treatment in the hospital, currently she is out of danger.
Her husband Javed Akhtar was riding in another car and after the accident he was seen accompanying Shabana Azmi in an ambulance. Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar were going to Khandala from Mumbai for a few days, where they have their own bungalow.
