Mumbai Police DIG accused of molesting 17-year-old girl suspended
Maharashtra’s home department on Thursday suspended Deputy Inspector General Nishikant More. Nishikant More is accused of molesting a 17-year old girl.In another development, Panvel court rejected Nishikant More’s arrest bail application.
Shocking developments in the case have come to light after registration of the offence since Monday. The girl from Navi Mumbai who filed a molestation case is missing.
The police formed a search team but are yet to locate the girl. She wrote a suicide note before she went missing.
In her note, she narrated the ordeal her family has been through and also mentioned that Nishikant More is pressuring her family to take the case back. Case of kidnapping has been registered as the family of the girl is alleging that she was kidnapped while she was on the way to commit suicide.
In the suicide note the girl mentioned that she would commit suicide by jumping in front of a train. Her brother also made allegations that their family was threatened by a constable who was once posted with the DIG. Constable identified as Dinkar Salve.
Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Thursday said the police are investigating the incident captured in the video and the driver, Dinkar Salve, has been suspended.
Salve’s role is being investigated. His presence was confirmed as victim’s brother took his pictures in the court.
Maharashtra’s Home Minister, Anil Deshmukh decided to take disciplinary action against Nishikant More after a report regarding the same was submitted by Director General of Maharashtra Police.
Nishikant More, DIG (Motor Transport) – accused of molesting the 17-year-old girl – is absconding, Anil Deshmukh said.
The incident took place on June 5 during birthday party of the girl. Nishikant More is her father’s friend and he allegedly touched her appropriately at the event.
