New Delhi: Golden Globes 2020 kick-started with a “bang”, just like five-time Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais said, and ended with one too. After star-studded red carpet moments, the awards were announced inside the Beverly Hilton ballroom in California and garnered the loudest cheers when war drama 1917 won Best Film (Drama) while Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time In Hollywood turned out to be a favourite with three wins out of five nominations. 1917 also fetched the Best Director Award for Sam Mendes. Renee Zellweger won the Best Actress (Drama) Golden Globe for playing the titular role in Judy, a biopic on American actress-singer Judy Garland. Joaquin Phoenix won the Best Actor (Drama) Golden Globe for his critically acclaimed performance in Todd Phillip’s Joker.
