Dulandi – The State

The period of Holashtak is considered to be inauspicious by most of the Hindu communities in Northern parts of India. According to the Purnimant calendar followed in North India, Holashtak starts from the ‘Ashtami’ (8th day) of the ‘Shukla Paksha’ (the period of bright fortnight of moon) and continues till the ‘Purnima’ (full moon day) of the ‘Falgun’ month.

Holi 2020 : process of holi pooja (Dulandi, Rangpanchami)

Holi Pooja takes place a day before the Holi Festival. This day is called as ‘Holika Dahan’. There is no special pooja performed on the Holi day. This day is only meant for celebrations and play of colors. Holika Dahan is the major ritual performed at the time of Holi which is also considered an important Holi Puja.
