Phillip Schofield fuels boyfriend rumours on his first lunch date since lockdown

Phillip Schofield revealed he was going on his first lunch date since March.

Speculation has been rife about when the presenter will start dating again after coming out and his subsequent split from his wife Steph of nearly 27 years.

Only months ago, fans mistook one of his close lifelong friends to be his boyfriend when they were reunited for a country walk.

Now This Morning’s presenter, 58, admitted it was the first time he was going to be taken out for lunch since the lockdown started.

He told fans: “I am about to be taken out to lunch for the first time since March.”

The author had no qualms confessing it has been almost six months since someone has taken him out for lunch.

Phil filmed the piece to camera outside the TV studios in London where he shoots This Morning alongside bombshell Holly Willoughby.

Like many stars, Phil has been residing at his country residence during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Despite having purchased a flashy London flat during lockdown, the TV star has been holed up at his £2million Oxfordshire home with his family.

Phil and Steph have remained friendly since the breakdown of their marriage.

The exes have no plans to get divorced, although they have separated.

They have been staying at home with their two grown up daughters Molly and Ruby.

Claims surfaced the star will convert the garage at the family home into a bachelor pad.

At the start of this year, Phil gave an impassioned speech as he come out as gay on This Morning during an interview with Holly.

He said at the time: “You never know what’s going on in someone’s seemingly perfect life.

“So you won’t know what has been consuming me for the last few years.”
