Carole Baskin is not taking her appearance on Dancing With The Stars as a flash in the pan, as she has been preparing for this moment over the past couple years.
The 59-year-old breakout star of Netflix docuseries Tiger King, has transformed her body over the past 24 months as shr shapes up for season 29 of the dance competition.
With the Mirrorball Trophy up for grabs, Carole wants to show that she hasn’t got two left tiger feet on the dancefloor and has shed the pounds in the process.
Ahead of the new series, Carole admitted this week that she has “absolutely no dance background” but was well on her way with a personal wellness programme.
The animal rights activist said: “[Rehearsals] made me aware of muscles that I didn’t have. There’s an awful lot of things that ache!”
While her dance potential may still be questionable, her weight loss journey has been clear to see, with many fans taking to social media to express their shock at how much Carole has lost as she slims down for her destiny with dance.
Fans noticed when she posed alongside Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause, who has also signed up for DWTS.
Standing side by side, in face masks as the United States continues to be gripped by the coronavirus pandemic, fans of the tiger obsessed star shared their thoughts on her transformation.
Chrishell, 39, captioned the pic on her Instagram story: “So THIS just happened.”
Speaking about her weight loss, Carole said: “The stuff that people saw in Tiger King was filmed in 2018.
“This has been a two-year process, it wasn’t just from this.”
Carole admitted that she wasn’t that familiar with what Dancing With The Stars offers but after a few rehearsals, is now embracing the process with open arms.
She said that getting to grips with ballroom dance techniques have proved challenging as she goes through intense rehearsals.
Carole continued: “I’ve always been really determined and extremely competitive within myself.
“I think the most challenging aspect is that I’m a workaholic – I work seven days, 70 hours a week.
“To be limited to three to four hours of rehearsals has been so difficult for me. I want to rehearse all day, every day until I get it right.”
Of course, Carole will be dancing to a tiger inspired song for her first attempt and her professional dance partner will be revealed when the series returns on September 14.
She revealed: “I will be dancing to Eye of the Tiger.
It’s the paso doble. For costumes, I gave instructions for no fur, no feathers – but just have a blast.”
* Season 29 of Dancing With the Stars starts on ABC on Monday, September 14 at 8pm ET.
