Jose Mourinho’s foul-mouthed reaction to Harry Kane’s injury lay-off

Jose Mourinho delivered a damning assessment of Tottenham’s top four chances upon learning the severity of Harry Kane’s injury back in January.
Spurs’ leading marksman limped out of the 1-0 defeat away at Southampton on New Years’ Day with a hamstring problem.
And after hearing Kane would be out for at least three months, Mourinho declared: “We’re f*****.”
At the time Spurs were sixth in the table with ambitions of securing a Champions League spot.
After being substituted in the 73rd minute, Kane underwent scans and the moment Mourinho was informed of the damage was captured in Amazon Prime documentary All or Nothing .
Tottenham’s head medic Geoff Scott delivered the bad news and Mourinho quickly rushed to tell a member of his coaching staff.
“Three months minimum….minimum,” Mourinho said. “Three months if he doesn’t have surgery.
“Three months out. We’re f*****.”
Spurs didn’t fare too badly initially in Kane’s absence but soon hit a slump before the coronavirus break gave their striker time to get back to full fitness.

The 27-year-old was able to make a full comeback after undergoing surgery.
He scored seven times in nine games once the season restarted in June as Tottenham managed to finish the season in sixth, qualifying for the Europa League in the process.
Earlier in the All or Nothing series, footage showed the first one to one meeting Mourinho had with Kane after being appointed manager, which gave an indication how highly he thinks of his star player.

“I saw you training yesterday and I have no doubts that you are a leader,” Mourinho said. “That is my feeling.
“The world looks to English football with an incredible respect but they still think that the movie stars of football belong to other places. We have to build also your status in that direction.
“My profile, I am little bit like that as a coach. The reality is that my dimension is universal and by being with me I think I can help you to [explode].”
