How to watch the MTV VMAs live from the UK tonight

MTV’s annual Video Music Awards will go ahead tonight, becoming the first major live awards show to proceed since the coronavirus pandemic hit the USA.
The celebration will take place across multiple outdoor venues in New York City, with live performances from Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, BTS, The Weeknd and more planned.
To ensure that social distancing measures can be followed, only very limited audiences will be allowed to attend the event in person.
But fans will still be able to watch live from home.

What time are the MTV VMAs?
The VMAs will take place at 8pm in New York, which is 1am in the UK.
People in the UK can watch the event live on MTV or MTV.com. It will start at 1am on Monday 31 August, and finish at 4am.
Keke Palmer is hosting the awards, while Drew Barrymore, Jaden Smith, Bella Hadid and Anthony Ramos are among the presenters.
Who is nominated?
Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga lead the nominations, with nine each, while Billie Eilish and The Weeknd have six each. Taylor Swift scored five nominations.
The VMAs has introduced two new categories this year, to recognise the unique times we’re living in.
Ariane Grande and Justin Bieber, 5 Seconds of Summer, blink-182, Drake, John Legend and twenty one pilots are in the running for “Best Music Video From Home”, while “Best Quarantine Performance” will go to either Chloe & Halle, CNCO, Post Malone, John Legend, Lady Gaga or DJ D-Nice.
